Religion
From Paragon
Religion is a system of social coherence based on a common group of beliefs or attitudes concerning an object, person, unseen being, or system of thought considered to be supernatural, sacred, divine or highest truth, and the moral codes, practices, values, institutions, traditions, and rituals associated with such belief or system of thought.
Almost every known culture has developed some form of religion. Dating back to early human ritual burials, religion has had a great impact on human lifestyles. It has been variously used as a way of explaining natural phenomena, a search for an absolute truth, a means of preserving power, a guide for living one's life and a hypothesis concerning life after death.
Today, Amkalism and Ciophism are by far the world's two largest religions, despite being relatively new at after only two millennia of development. Believers for both number in the billions and can be found across the world. Arga, Rosaanism, Avanyashi and Jisruism are large religions in their own, with tens to hundreds of millions of believers concentrated in relatively smaller areas. These religions date back further still.
